Cyber Security

Cyber security is centred around protecting your business’s software and data from damage, theft and cyber attacks. With our growing dependence on computers, the number of data and security breaches has risen and implementing cyber security measures has therefore become increasingly important.

This is particularly crucial for small businesses who are less likely to have high levels of protection in place like larger companies. If you would like to find out more information about Simblox’s cyber security services to protect your business, please get in touch.

Phish Testing and Awareness Training

Awareness Training

As well as having cyber security systems in place, ensuring staff can identify and deal with security threats is an additional and valuable layer of protection. No matter what the size of the organisation, employees tend to be one of the biggest weaknesses when it comes to cyber security. That’s why providing awareness training and conducting phish tests with employees is paramount to ensuring your business has the best IT security measures in place.

At Simblox, we offer automated training campaigns to help keep your business and employees up to date with the latest in cyber security. With the world of cyber security constantly changing, continuing to grow our knowledge in this area is key and our programmes make it easier for employees to complete their training and be aware of potential attacks. Of course, our training experts at Simblox will guide your employees through the process, helping them to become certified while giving you and your business more peace of mind when it comes to cyber security threats.

Phish Testing

To test employees on what they have learned throughout their training, we carry out test phishing attacks, which are completely automated. This gives employees the opportunity to deal with attacks before real ones happen. With scammers using so many different tactics to try and fool employees, our training and tests are designed to help employees identify and react to phishing attacks in the best way possible. This will help them deal with real attacks in the future and will prevent your business IT security from being threatened.

If you want to ensure your business has the highest level of security and embark on the training campaigns, please get in touch.

Password Protection and Multi-Factor Authentication

As well as equipping employees with the knowledge to identify and react correctly to phishing attacks, we also ensure that everyone is taking a sensible approach to setting up passwords and using multi-factor authentication.

What is password protection?

Password protection involves educating employees about the best practices for setting up passwords to help strengthen the cyber security of the business. These practices include:

  • Using a different password for each system
  • Using passwords that are long enough and include upper and lower case letters, digits and symbols
  • Not using easy to guess methodology between passwords
  • Not replacing letters with obvious numbers

What is multi-factor authentication?

Multi-factor authentication means that there is an additional step required when logging into a system for the first time, either from a new device or a new browser session. This means that not only do employees need to enter their username and password but they will also have to enter a code. This code is either generated on mobile phones or sent to the mobile as a text. This is a one off number that is generated each minute so cannot be guessed, ensuring much higher levels of cyber security with minimal effort required from employees.

What are the benefits of multifactor authentication?

  • If an employee is scammed via a phishing email, which tricks them into entering their username and passwords, the attacker will still not be able to log in without the additional code.
  • The code does not have to be entered each time an employee connects. Most systems allow you to “trust” the device so that a multi-factor authentication code is not required when logging in from it. This means this layer of protection is easy to use but is effective in that it locks after a period of inactivity and is fully encrypted.
  • Most Cyber Security Insurance policies now require that multi-factor authentication be enabled for all remote access.

Security Score Improvement

Choosing Simblox for your cyber security will also give you access to your security score. To make the security status of your current Office 365 or Azure setup more transparent, Microsoft provides every tenant with a security score along with a set of recommendations to improve that score.

A security score is given as a percentage and the higher the percentage, the higher the level of cyber security. An example of a security score can be seen on the left.

Additionally, you can compare your organisation with others of a similar size in similar industries and an example of this can be found on the right.

Microsoft will also provide your organisation with a set of actions to take to improve the cyber security score, as well as detailing the overall security level:

At Simblox, we work through these recommendations with our customers, as the more secure your organisation is, the less it will be at risk, preventing your business from having to deal with time consuming incidents.
